Professional License in Veterinary Assistantship

The Professional License in Veterinary Assistantship is a Bac+3 level training which aims to train professionals capable of assisting veterinarians in their daily practice. This license is intended for students holding a BTS or a DUT in biology, agronomy or animal health, holders of a scientific baccalaureate, as well as professionals in retraining.

 

The objectives of this training are multiple:

 

- Acquire the necessary skills to assist the veterinarian during consultations, surgeries and medical examinations.

- Master care and nursing techniques for hospitalized animals.

- Know the different animal species and their physiological particularities.

- Understand the ethical issues related to veterinary practice.

- Know how to manage the reception of customers and the administrative management of the veterinary practice.

 

The professional opportunities for graduates of this license are varied. They can work in veterinary practices, veterinary clinics, veterinary analysis laboratories, research centers or even in the technical services of local authorities.

The positions available are also varied: veterinary assistant, reception manager, technical adviser in animal feed, etc.
